The Commissioning Engineer at AWS is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the commissioning of critical infrastructure for new construction and special projects. This role involves collaboration with vendors, contractors, and various teams to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards. The engineer will also engage in continuous auditing of commissioning activities to meet environmental, quality, and safety requirements. Joining a diverse team, the CxE will contribute to maintaining AWS's high standards for safety and security while delivering innovative solutions.
Requirements
- 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities such as data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
- 4+ years of commissioning experience.
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
- Professional Engineer License.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate multi-discipline division of work related to design review and commissioning.
- Support vendors, contractors, and teams involved in the construction and commissioning of various systems.
- Develop and review electrical and mechanical component and integrated systems testing.
- Ensure compliance with the basis of design, specification, industry standards, and sequence of operations.
- Audit commissioning activities continuously to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.
- Communicate proactively with the ACx Regional Manager and the ACx team regarding test documents.
- Provide comprehensive weekly reporting of the status of ongoing projects and program improvements.
