Job description
The Industrial Engineer role at Amazon Leo focuses on supporting factory-level industrial engineering projects to enhance operational mechanisms and workflows. The team is dedicated to producing critical sub-systems for Amazon Leo Satellites, tackling complex challenges in mass-manufacturing high-performing aerospace hardware. The engineer will play a vital role in optimizing factory layouts and ensuring efficient production processes. This position emphasizes continuous improvement and collaboration across various engineering and operational functions.
Requirements
- Experience in capacity planning, operations planning, business analysis or equivalent.
- Experience in process improvement and quality control tools and methods.
- Advanced degree in Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience with SAP ERP system.
- Experience with both low rate/NPI and full rate manufacturing processes.
- Experience with developing, planning, and deploying work cell layouts in a factory environment.
- Familiarity with cleanroom operations.
- Lean-Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- Experience with operations research concepts like Queueing theory and Transportation theory.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, design, develop, and lead execution on work cell layouts throughout the facility.
- Specify, lead, and develop analysis and produce modeling associated with labor, cycle time, headcount, and capex requirements for production processes.
- Contribute to the development of standard ways of working across Kuiper for industrial engineering activities.
- Be a department subject matter expert in SAP ERP and MES systems.
- Collaborate on development, analyze, and optimize factory improvement roadmaps.
- Participate in drafting and development of Standard Operating Procedures for Operations Team partners.
