As a Hardware Qualification Engineer at Google Cloud, you will lead end-to-end testing initiatives for machine learning hardware used in Google's data centers. You will work closely with design engineers to ensure that the hardware meets Google's standards of quality, reliability, and security. This role involves creating test plans, performing various types of testing, and analyzing results to drive improvements. Your contributions will help shape the infrastructure that supports millions of Google users.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience working in a board and systems technical environment.
- Experience with testing requirements, best practices, and algorithms for hyperscale hardware or systems.
- Experience with direct use of lab equipment such as scopes, analyzers, or oscilloscopes.
- Experience with low-speed interfaces like SPI or I2C and high-speed SerDes interfaces such as Ethernet or PCIe.
Responsibilities
- Create test plans and coordinate resources across test environments.
- Perform electrical, functional, performance, and reliability testing for Google's machine learning trays and solutions.
- Analyze results to ensure that they meet Google's requirements.
- Report bugs and drive corrective action where needed with external suppliers and internal teams.
- Use scopes, protocol analyzers, BERTs, and other lab equipment to collect high precision data.
- Organize results, communicate findings, and incorporate learnings to maintain and improve the qualification process.
