Job description
As a Hardware Test Engineer in the Platforms Infrastructure team at Google, you will collaborate with hardware test engineers to validate and qualify server, networking, and optical platforms. Your role involves ensuring that lab resources are prepared for new products entering the Research and Development labs. You will also manage lab inventory and maintain a safe and organized working environment. This position is crucial for supporting the development of cutting-edge hardware technologies that power Google's services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of experience working in a lab environment.
- Experience with Linux and networking configuration.
- Ability to lift and move 30 lbs of equipment and work on platforms, ladders, and under raised floors.
Responsibilities
- Perform Linux systems administrative tasks, including debugging system and network issues related to lab networks.
- Work with cross-functional teams on tasks such as prototype hardware assembly and firmware updates.
- Receive and manage hardware components and materials for projects.
- Document lab bench and rack configurations and prioritize tasks related to project bring-up.
- Manage and organize lab inventory of consumables and equipment.
