The Formulations Senior Research Scientist at Elanco will focus on developing robust formulations and manufacturing processes for the biopharmaceutical portfolio. This role involves providing technical support for formulation activities related to biologics, including monoclonal antibodies and vaccines. The position emphasizes modernizing workflows through automation and AI/ML tools to enhance lab efficiency. The scientist will also lead the technical transfer of processes to manufacturing sites while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or an MS with 10 years relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Experience in biologics formulation and sterile manufacturing.
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms or predictive modeling software.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of biologics formulations using high-throughput screening platforms.
- Implement and oversee automated equipment and workflows to improve lab efficiency.
- Apply AI/ML modeling and predictive analytics to streamline formulation selection and optimize stability profiles.
- Lead the technical transfer of drug product formulations and manufacturing processes from R&D to clinical and commercial manufacturing sites.
- Write, review, or approve high-quality technical reports, batch records, and global regulatory submissions.
