The successful candidate will lead a small, agile team on the production floor, addressing real-time challenges and collaborating with engineering and R&D on prototype builds. This hands-on opportunity emphasizes driving daily priorities and making impactful contributions to both product and process. The role requires a strong focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Approximately 8+ years of experience in semiconductor capital equipment or related high-tech manufacturing environments.
  • 3-5+ years of experience leading engineering or manufacturing teams in a high-output manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with CREO or similar CAD tools and strong mechanical engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience leading external contractors, suppliers, and global vendor relationships.
  • Strong background in factory automation within semiconductor manufacturing, including knowledge of SECS/GEM protocols.
  • Experience in thermal design, heat transfer, or system-level modeling.
  • A consistent record in program/project management, including multi-functional coordination and budget ownership.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 30%, both domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing manufacturing engineering team, including performance management, coaching, workforce planning, and budgeting.
  • Drive execution of mechanical design initiatives with a focus on scalable fixture design and automated test systems aligned to manufacturing needs.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team, supporting sophisticated problem-solving and enabling rapid issue resolution in operations.
  • Own program and project delivery, including roadmap planning, prioritization, budget management, and resource allocation across multiple workstreams.
  • Partner multi-functionally with engineering, operations, and supply chain to define requirements and deliver robust, production-ready solutions.
  • Champion operational excellence by implementing tooling and fixture solutions that improve uptime, yield, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Ensure design quality and manufacturability through application of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturing principles.
  • Build and lead strategic relationships with suppliers and external partners to meet cost, quality, and schedule objectives.
  • Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives using structured methodologies.

Benefits

  • Employees at KLA are often offered competitive pay with bonuses, a 401(k) match, an employee stock purchase program, and financial perks like student-debt assistance, planning support, and group insurance discounts.
