Job description

The Cloud Infrastructure Business Operations team at Apple is seeking an experienced engineer to drive data and insights for planning the strategy of Apple's infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with various teams to align engineering strategies and optimize cloud resources. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, particularly in cloud environments, and a genuine curiosity about AI technologies. The focus will be on designing, operating, and optimizing infrastructure while ensuring cost efficiency and performance outcomes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in an engineering role with a track record of delivering complex initiatives end-to-end.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with compute containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, including security and cost optimization.
  • Strong analytical foundation with proficiency in trending, variance analysis, and forecasting.

Responsibilities

  • Drive data and insights on planning the strategy for Apple's infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with engineering, finance, procurement, and supply chain teams.
  • Define architecture by influencing cross-functional and software development teams.
  • Design and deploy scalable, cloud-native architectures with a focus on reliability.
  • Build and communicate AI-augmented models that inform capacity planning and financial strategy.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
