Job description

The Principal Software Engineer role is part of the Industry Solutions Engineering team at Microsoft, focusing on developing cloud-based solutions for financial services customers in the capital markets sector. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Experience complying with insider trading rules and information-barrier requirements of investment banking customers.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to determine user requirements for various scenarios.
  • Lead the identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for products or services.
  • Mentor others to produce extensible and maintainable code used across products.
  • Leverage subject-matter expertise to drive project plans and work items.
  • Hold accountability as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and monitor systems for degradation or downtime.
  • Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to trends that improve product performance and reliability.
