Job description

As a Senior Research Engineer, you will be part of a team focused on enhancing human-agent interactions through research-driven solutions. Your work will involve innovating human oversight and management of autonomous agents to streamline business processes. This role offers the opportunity to deepen your expertise in autonomous, LLM-driven agents and collaborate with various stakeholders to deliver value. You will contribute to building next-generation AI platforms in a flexible work environment that fosters innovation and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years related experience.
  • OR Master's Degree in the relevant fields AND 3+ years related experience.
  • OR Doctorate in the relevant fields AND 1+ year related experience.
  • 4+ years experience developing and deploying live production systems as part of a product team.
  • 4+ years experience developing and deploying products or systems at multiple points in the product cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Gain expertise in one or more subareas and experience in a broad area of research.
  • Identify product needs by sharing the latest industry trends and applied technologies.
  • Review business requirements and incorporate research to meet business goals.
  • Provide strategic direction for the kinds of data used to solve problems.
  • Participate in onboarding of other team members and assist in developing academics.
  • Identify new research talent to join Microsoft and collaborate with the academic community.
  • Document work in progress and experimentation results and share findings.
  • Contribute to ethics and privacy policies related to research processes and data collection.
