Job description

The Controllers Division is responsible for ensuring the financial control and reporting obligations of a global financial institution. This role involves acting as a legal entity controller, overseeing the monthly closing process, and ensuring the accuracy of financial information. The team plays a critical role in safeguarding the firm's assets and engaging with regulators and auditors. The position requires strong analytical skills and collaboration with various departments to address inquiries and prepare financial disclosures.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • High proficiency with Microsoft software applications
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting and/or finance
  • CPA is desired
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and operate within deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Act as legal entity controller, overseeing the monthly closing process.
  • Monitor intercompany relationships and general ledger vs. sub-ledger breaks.
  • Prepare quarterly financial information for the firm's consolidated financial statements.
  • Assist in analyzing legal entity regulatory capital requirements.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of regulatory information in public reports.
  • Liaise with various areas of the firm on ad hoc inquiries.
  • Assist in the preparation of standalone entity financial information in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Perform and review ad hoc analyses on financial and non-financial attributes.
