Job description

The Vice President of Security Engineering at Goldman Sachs will focus on enhancing the security posture of the firm's applications. This role involves conducting application security assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and providing recommendations for secure remediation. The position requires collaboration with stakeholders to analyze security threats and risks associated with software components. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field and three years of experience in a related Security Engineering role, or a bachelor's degree in the same fields and five years of experience.
  • Three years of experience reviewing security controls and identifying security gaps.
  • Three years of experience highlighting and articulating risk to developers or engineers.
  • Three years of experience performing application vulnerability assessments and penetration testing of web applications.
  • Three years of experience performing code reviews of web application programming languages such as Java.
  • Two years of experience performing assessments of technologies leveraging common web stack technologies such as Java.
  • Two years of experience performing architecture reviews of web applications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform application security assessments including code reviews, penetration tests, and threat modeling.
  • Communicate assessment results to application engineers.
  • Review application security architecture, policies, and standards.
  • Identify vulnerabilities in software applications and design processes.
  • Research new cloud services to leverage them securely.
  • Analyze security threats and risks in software components.
  • Write and socialize test cases based on threat analysis assumptions.
  • Document issues and provide detailed recommendations for remediation.
  • Advise component owners on implementing secure remediation.
  • Collaborate with technical and forensic personnel to enhance cyber defense.
