Job description
The Cybersecurity Remediation Manager will lead a team of cybersecurity Remediation Engineers within the CISO Remediation Team at IBM. This role focuses on executing remediation efforts across the enterprise to effectively address security risks. The manager will balance technical oversight with people leadership, ensuring that engineers are supported in their development and that remediation strategies are aligned with enterprise risk priorities. Collaboration with various teams, including Security Operations and Incident Response, is essential to drive successful outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical teams in security, infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering is necessary.
- Strong understanding of vulnerability management, incident response lifecycles, and remediation practices is essential.
- Proven ability to influence across organizations and drive outcomes without direct control is required.
- Strong communication skills to translate technical issues into business and risk context are necessary.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Remediation Engineers while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical guidance and review for remediation strategies to ensure solutions address root causes and reduce recurring risks.
- Partner with Security Operations, Incident Response, Product, and Infrastructure leaders to drive remediation outcomes.
- Contribute to or define remediation standards, patterns, and best practices to improve effectiveness.
- Track and communicate remediation progress, trends, and risk reduction outcomes to stakeholders.
