The Metal API and Shader Instrumentation team focuses on enhancing system-level components to identify and resolve Metal API and shading language issues for developers. This team works closely with various stakeholders, including Metal production frameworks and GPU drivers, to ensure an optimal developer experience. The ideal candidate will leverage their software engineering expertise to instrument applications and ensure robust implementations across the graphics stack. They will also be responsible for creating validation and testing plans to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Practical experience in modern GPU programming using Metal, DirectX, and/or Vulkan.
- Knowledge of Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, and CPU/GPU programming.
- Proven experience shipping software written in C, C++ and/or Objective-C programming languages.
- Experience developing compiler technology, particularly LLVM.
- Experience in developing OS, systems, frameworks, and/or game middleware software.
- Familiarity with Apple framework and API design patterns.
Responsibilities
- Develop mechanisms to assist game, graphics, and compute developers in implementing Metal applications.
- Instrument complex applications to identify undefined behavior and address sanitization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the Metal developer experience.
- Deliver validation and testing plans to ensure the robustness and quality of implementations.
