Job description
As a Data Center Project Engineer at AWS, you will be part of a diverse team focused on constructing energy-efficient and cost-effective data centers. You will collaborate with various teams, including Operations and Security, to ensure high-quality delivery of construction projects. This role involves daily interactions with construction managers and stakeholders on-site, emphasizing effective communication and coordination. You will also manage document workflows and support vendor management to facilitate the construction process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in vendor management
- Experience in a data center or other critical environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- 3+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience
- 4+ years of construction or project management experience
- Knowledge of electrical systems in critical Data Center operations
Responsibilities
- Establish communication and coordination across general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Develop and maintain a tracking system for design changes, RFI’s, and change orders.
- Onboard new vendors for badging and orientation.
- Update project management software with milestone dates, correspondence, and documents.
- Monitor delivery of owner furnished material to the site.
- Compile and store construction data from vendors.
- Manage various checklists including substantial completion checks, safety, and quality.
