This role involves building the next generation serverless analytics platform that executes Apache Spark, Python, and other runtime engines. The team is focused on scaling backend infrastructure to achieve super-low latencies for massive workloads. As part of the AWS Utility Computing organization, you will support the development and management of various cloud services. The position offers a unique opportunity to influence and build products that leverage the scale of resources for serverless big data workloads.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Translate functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture, design, and extensible code
- Technically lead a team of engineers on complex projects
- Advocate for industry best practices to produce reliable and dependable code
- Code and test complex system modules while developing effective frameworks
- Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews to maintain high development standards
- Own system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance
- Collaborate and influence other teams to deliver large scale, distributed services in the cloud
- Mentor other engineers and help build a fast-growing team
