As a Sr. Thermal & Mechanical Packaging Engineer on the Machine Learning Acceleration team, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing hardware systems for data centers. This role involves leading the application of new technologies to enhance server deployments and improve customer experience. You will work closely with various teams to ensure high standards in product performance, quality, and cost. The position is intellectually challenging and requires a proactive approach to innovation in hardware design.
Requirements
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years of industry experience in advanced packaging of semiconductors.
- 10+ years of industry experience in mechanical design of semiconductor-based systems.
- Proficiency with simulation tools such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, COMSOL, FLOTHERM, ICEPACK or equivalent FEA/CFD software.
- Experience in advanced packaging metrologies for characterization and design validation of semiconductor components.
Responsibilities
- Design and build systems that are integral to large-scale computing infrastructure.
- Develop thermal and mechanical solutions from circuit design to high volume manufacturing.
- Communicate with customers and technical teams to gather requirements and describe product features.
- Optimize packaging architectures to meet quality, performance, and cost goals.
- Execute experiments in a lab environment, including building custom test fixtures and performing root-cause failure analysis.
