Job description

The Data Center Hardware Engineering team is seeking an electrical integration engineer to oversee projects from design conception to mass production. This role requires collaboration with various teams, including mechanical, power, software, and hardware validation. The focus is on designing and validating high-performance compute solutions tailored to customer requirements. Candidates should possess strong electrical systems integration experience, particularly in high-speed digital design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant industry work experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of design and validation requirements for common low-speed and high-speed digital interfaces such as I2C/SMBus, SPI, JTAG, USB, PCIe, Ethernet, and DDR Memory is necessary.
  • Excellent debugging skills from the system-level down to the transistor level are essential.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and visual communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Own electrical engineering implementation, documentation, and validation of customized compute designs.
  • Conduct electrical design, schematic capture, and provide board layout guidance.
  • Perform simulation, bringup, debug, and validation of designs.
  • Support factory builds and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Develop functional specifications, procedures, and other documentation for complex system integration.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
