Job description

Amazon.com’s Search Operations team is seeking an engineer to enhance one of the largest search infrastructures on the Internet. The team focuses on operational support for search front-end services and aims to improve customer experience by maximizing availability and performance. This role involves automating processes and mitigating high severity events while participating in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation. Requirements

  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes.

Responsibilities

  • Protect the Search customer experience and eliminate operational load.
  • Mitigate and resolve high severity events and prevent their recurrence.
  • Develop and own innovative software solutions to automate incident response workflows.
  • Assist engineers on call with root-causing of high severity events.
  • Lead and coordinate calls during large scale events in production.
