The role is focused on leading the front-end sourcing strategy for critical memory and storage technologies within Microsoft's Cloud Supply Chain organization. This team is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure that supports Microsoft's cloud and AI platforms. The position involves collaborating with engineering and product teams to influence platform architectures and manage supplier relationships. The main focus is on ensuring reliable supply and optimizing costs while mitigating risks associated with technology and geopolitical factors.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 6+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR Bachelor's degree in the same fields AND 8+ years experience in relevant roles OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead front-end sourcing strategy for critical memory and storage technologies supporting hyperscale cloud and AI platforms.
- Influence platform architectures and POR decisions by partnering with engineering, system architecture, and product teams early in the design cycle.
- Own long-range supply, capacity, and commercial strategy, aligning supplier roadmaps with multi-year demand, capex, and cost objectives.
- Serve as commercial interface with Tier-1 suppliers, structuring LTAs, supply-assurance frameworks, price protections, and risk-sharing models.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with Capacity Planning and Finance on demand forecasts, supply risk, margin impact, and capital exposure.
- Identify and mitigate lifecycle, technology, and geopolitical risks while scaling supplier ecosystems to support rapid platform growth.
