Job description
The Lead Ports Electrical Engineer will manage and lead a team of electrical engineers focused on modernizing and decarbonizing marine cargo and passenger terminals. This role is part of a top-ranked Ports & Maritime team at Jacobs, dedicated to enhancing global trade and connectivity. The engineer will implement electrical designs for various facilities and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects. Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in electrical engineering from a US state
- Minimum of 7 years of electrical design experience, particularly in ports and marine facilities
- Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams in both in-person and remote environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of electrical codes and standards relevant to maritime facilities
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and review of electrical design drawings and technical specifications for infrastructure projects
- Serve as a subject matter expert for electrical and cathodic protection work for port and marine facilities
- Contribute to and lead the preparation of proposals for electrical engineering scope of work
- Collaborate across various disciplines within Jacobs to enhance project delivery
- Engage with electrical teams outside of the Ports & Maritime team to build capability and expertise
- Work with Global Delivery Centers to support the Ports & Maritime portfolio
