Requirements
- Master’s degree in structural engineering
- Professional Engineer license
- 5 to 10 years of working experience as a structural engineer, primarily engaged in structural design activities
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Skilled in structural analysis and design software such as SAP2000, STAAD, and spColumn
- Proficiency in interpreting and applying structural engineering codes and standards such as ACI-318 and AASHTO LRFD
Responsibilities
- Work mostly independently with some support from experienced tunnel-structural engineers
- Maintain effective communications with the engineering team and clients
- Perform calculations to design excavation support and linings and shoring systems
- Prepare design drawings and assist in specifications preparation
- Prepare technical reports and presentations to present findings and recommendations
- Review contractor construction submittals
- Observe and report on construction activities and ground conditions during construction
- Perform field investigations as needed by the project
