Job description
Apple's US Decision Intelligence team is seeking a Support Engineer who is passionate about implementing and operating AI solutions that impact Apple Sales and its customers. This role requires a blend of speed and precision, focusing on delivering bug fixes, enhancements, and support across a multidisciplinary engineering organization. The engineer will work with data science and AI insights workflows, full-stack web engineering, and ensure system reliability. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and possess strong debugging skills.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering with the ability to triage, debug, and resolve issues across the full stack.
- Proficiency in Python and JavaScript/Node.js for diagnosing and patching issues across backend and frontend systems.
- Experience supporting data science or analytics workflows, including pipeline failures and data quality issues.
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL and document stores like MongoDB.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to document issues and explain root causes to stakeholders.
- B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver bug fixes and enhancements across the multidisciplinary engineering organization.
- Support data science and AI insights workflows, ensuring system reliability.
- Manage multiple support queues simultaneously, prioritizing issues appropriately.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to backend services, data pipelines, and web applications.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate code generation and validate AI-generated output.
- Contribute to the resolution of issues by writing small, targeted code enhancements and fixes.
