The Sr. Electrical Engineer at Amazon Web Services will be part of a global engineering team focused on designing and innovating electrical distribution systems for data centers. This role involves working on multi-million dollar designs and requires collaboration with various internal and external teams. The engineer will ensure compliance with regulations while driving continuous improvements in design quality and cost-effectiveness. The position is based in Virginia, with travel to Seattle and potential international support.
Requirements
- 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or 12+ years of related electrical experience.
- Professional Engineering License.
- Excellent understanding of the National Electrical Code.
- Solid understanding of critical data center electrical equipment.
Responsibilities
- Lead internal and external teams that support the data center.
- Participate in site selection reviews and data center substation electrical designs.
- Create designs that meet quality and budgetary requirements.
- Work with regional vendors to specify appropriate electrical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal requirements and building codes.
