Job description

As an Amazon Power Generation Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle engineering support to AWS Data Centers' Power Generation Systems. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure the reliability and efficiency of power generation technologies. Your role will involve troubleshooting, compliance, and optimization of power generation systems. You will also engage in training and knowledge transfer to enhance team expertise.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Diesel Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission-critical Power Generation Systems.
  • Experience with multiple power generation technologies including diesel generators and natural gas systems.
  • Deep understanding of environmental regulations related to emissions and fuel storage.
  • Experience with generator synchronization and load management.
  • Data analytics skills and comfort with working in large data environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis for power generation system failures.
  • Support operational issues with training and procedure reviews.
  • Interface with internal teams to promote standards for power generation services.
  • Initiate and lead engineering audits and produce risk reports.
  • Act as resident engineer during new construction projects.
  • Perform investigations on power generation system failures and drive resolution.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance and reporting related to emissions and fuel storage.
  • Develop and deliver technical training programs for teams on power generation systems.
  • Provide engineering support for emerging technologies in power generation.
