As an Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers, focusing on water-based cooling systems infrastructure. You will collaborate with diverse teams to assess and improve existing systems while developing innovative solutions. This role requires strong engineering judgment and the ability to manage projects effectively. You will work both in the office and in the field, ensuring that data center operations meet high standards for safety and efficiency.
Requirements
- 5+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities such as data centers or power generation.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ cumulative years of experience in water engineering or industrial water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Experience analyzing water chemistry and applying environmental regulations for water quality management.
- Understanding of physical, chemical, and biological practices for treating industrial and reclaimed water.
- Experience working in a data center or mission critical facility.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and applicable building codes.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment related to data centers.
- Possess data analytics skills and comfort with working in large amounts of data.
Responsibilities
- Provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through maintenance.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to assess and update water infrastructure systems.
- Troubleshoot and conduct Root Cause Analysis for site and equipment failures.
- Support operational issues with training and complex procedure reviews.
- Own the conceptual design for data center upgrades and design solutions.
- Interface with various teams to promote consistency and reliability in services.
- Develop innovative solutions for AWS’s data centers.
- Initiate and lead engineering audits, producing reports with risks and recommendations.
- Act as resident engineer during new construction projects.
