Job description

NVIDIA is seeking a CPU Design Engineer to join their innovative CPU team, focusing on designing high-performance, low-power CPUs for various product lines. The role involves collaboration with design engineers, architects, and verification engineers to push the boundaries of computing technology. As a senior member of the team, you will drive micro-architecture definition and ensure the functionality of designs. This position offers the chance to make a significant impact in a dynamic and technology-driven environment.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in electrical engineering or computer engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Exposure to Computer Architecture and Digital Systems design.
  • Proficient in logic design, Verilog and/or SystemVerilog.
  • Deep understanding of physical design and VLSI.
  • Strengths in scripting languages such as Perl and Python.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the micro-architecture definition, feasibility studies, and documentation of CPU sub-systems.
  • Implement in RTL and coordinate execution with the verification team to ensure that the design is functional.
  • Exercise logic design skills to optimize and meet performance, timing, and power targets.
  • Deliver a synthesis/timing clean design while working with the physical design team.
  • Support hardware engineering activities including chip floor plan, power/clock distribution, and timing closure.
  • Develop flows and tools as necessary in support of design activities.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
