Job description

At NVIDIA, the Cosmos team is focused on advancing multimodal AI and building agentic systems that enhance AI development. This role emphasizes creating a meta-layer for modern machine learning, where agents assist in the development and improvement of AI systems. The position requires exceptional engineers who are passionate about AI-native software engineering and improving productivity through innovative systems. The work involves designing workflows, building AI-native systems, and maintaining large-scale codebases.

Requirements

  • Significant experience building machine learning systems and software platforms, not only models.
  • Expert-level Python skills with strong judgment around modularity and code health.
  • Deep familiarity with PyTorch, including debugging and extending model behavior.
  • Experience building pipelines, evaluation systems, or workflow automation for ML at scale.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including system design and testing.
  • Strong agency in LLM-based systems, such as tool use and automation.
  • BS, MS, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of relevant software development experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement agentic workflows across the ML lifecycle.
  • Build AI-native systems for interaction between models and codebases.
  • Create self-improving loops for data generation and evaluation.
  • Own and evolve large-scale Python and PyTorch codebases.
  • Design and scale evaluation platforms combining automated metrics and human feedback.
  • Build and maintain multimodal ML pipelines for data processing and deployment.
  • Integrate open-source and internal components into unified systems.
  • Raise the bar on engineering excellence through strong practices.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
