Job description

The Data Engineer II role within the Prime Video Product Analytics (PVPA) team focuses on building and maintaining the data infrastructure for out-of-app engagement and full-funnel customer journey analytics. This team is dedicated to enhancing customer experience by connecting marketing touchpoints with in-app behavior. The role involves working with critical datasets and pipelines to support analytics, experimentation, and machine learning use cases. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various teams to ensure data reliability and deliver clean, structured data for insights.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with non-relational databases/data stores such as object storage and graph databases
  • Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable data models and ETL pipelines that span the full customer funnel.
  • Build and enhance AI tooling and analytics products to enable self-serve and improved efficiency.
  • Partner with engineering and dependency teams to define data contracts and ensure upstream data reliability.
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence Engineers and Data Scientists to deliver clean, structured data for various use cases.
  • Monitor pipeline health, resolve job and cluster issues, and improve automation and observability.
  • Champion data engineering best practices across the team, including documentation and version control.
