Job description
The Hardware Technologies Group is seeking a Camera/Depth Engineering Program Manager to lead the design, development, and integration of advanced camera and depth modules for Apple's product line, including iPhone, iPad, and Mac. This role requires collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines to ensure high-quality camera performance. The successful candidate will manage project schedules, budgets, and facilitate communication among cross-functional teams. A strong background in hardware engineering and program management is essential for driving successful outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as an engineering manager in hardware domains or as a program/project manager.
- Knowledge of mass-production consumer electronics products, supply chain, and test processes.
- Experience with international OEM/ODM partners/vendors.
- Master's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field is preferred.
- Working knowledge of optics and lens design.
- Experience with camera module design, development, or project management.
- Experience in mobile phone system design, specifically system integration and manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Lead a hardware engineering team through the design, manufacturing, testing, and validation of camera and depth modules.
- Define and drive the build plan for multiple module integrators, serving as the primary lead during module development.
- Create and maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Collaborate with engineering managers and peer engineering program managers to supervise and maintain the execution plan and status.
- Navigate interpersonal conflicts and bring people together.
- Deliver depth and camera modules on schedule while facilitating risk management.
- Communicate status and issues to the development team and Apple executives.
- Facilitate effective communication and transparency between cooperating cross-functional teams.
- Understand technical issues and drive them to closure by involving key stakeholders for decision-making.
- Leverage AI tools and technologies to enhance program management efficiency, data analysis, and decision-making.
- Travel internationally as required.
