The Hardware Reliability Engineer at Amazon Devices will focus on ensuring the reliability and robustness of new and emerging electronic devices. This role involves collaborating with a cross-disciplinary team to define product specifications and testing methodologies. The engineer will be responsible for identifying and mitigating product risks while performing reliability testing and validation. The position requires a strong understanding of reliability statistics and hands-on experimental design to enhance product safety and performance.
Requirements
- BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- 3+ years of relevant experience in reliability engineering
- Experience in consumer, automotive, or robotics device reliability
- Experience with hardware reliability testing such as vibration & shock testing, fatigue testing, and thermal stress testing
- Experience in data analytics and statistical analysis, including reliability modeling and allocation
- Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or a related field and 5+ years of relevant experience
Responsibilities
- Engage with cross-disciplinary teams to drive product definition and execution
- Identify and validate product risks and work with design teams to mitigate them
- Define test methodology and coverage to assure product reliability
- Perform reliability prediction of failure mechanisms on products under development
- Serve as an unbiased product evaluator for designs and communicate product risks
- Drive improvements with data across all teams involved in product development
