The Power Electronics Engineer role at Rivian focuses on high-voltage power electronics product design in Carson, CA. The successful candidate will report to the Principal Power Electronics Engineer and will engage in both design and testing activities. • Minimum BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, with an MS or advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience working with power electronics is preferred.
• Expertise in power electronics circuits and concepts.
• Knowledge of power electronics topologies and key components such as power semiconductors, inductors, transformers, and capacitors.
• Ability to design the schematic and layout of controller and gate driver circuits for traction power inverters.
• Experience in power device characterization, simulation, and testing.
• Comfortable working with high voltages and currents.
• Experience using software tools such as Spice, Mathcad, and Matlab.
