Job description
The role at Rivian focuses on developing lubrication strategies for electric drive units and related components to enhance durability and efficiency. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in lubrication engineering or component design.
- Strong CAD skills with experience in 3D parametric modeling and PLM systems.
- Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards for radial and linear stackups.
- Familiarity with system analysis and simulation tools is strongly preferred.
- Experience designing or reviewing validation plans for lubrication performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop lubrication strategies for electric drive units, gearboxes, and differentials.
- Utilize first-principles engineering to create innovative component designs.
- Lead the design of lubrication system components from concept to production.
- Create component specifications and validation plans to meet system requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure design and quality standards.
- Document design best practices and support continuous improvement activities.
- Design experiments and test equipment for lubrication system performance.
- Analyze test data to identify lubrication-related issues and drive corrective actions.
- Prepare technical documentation and present recommendations to stakeholders.
