The role involves designing and building secure, scalable applications and RESTful APIs primarily using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular.js. The position focuses on driving technical excellence through architecture decisions and code reviews while translating business requirements into high-performance solutions. The engineer will also mentor junior team members and provide technology solutions to various project issues. This position is critical in ensuring project goals are met on-time and on-budget across multiple platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and five years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer.
- Alternatively, a Master's degree in a related field and three years of experience in the same role.
- Demonstrated expertise in building responsive end-to-end MVC-based web applications using Tomcat, Java, and Angular.js.
- Experience in developing and executing large-scale client migration projects using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs in a financial services or healthcare domain.
Responsibilities
- Participate in architecture design teams.
- Define and implement application-level architecture.
- Develop applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
- Recommend development testing tools and methodologies and review and validate test plans.
- Ensure QA readiness of software deliverables.
- Develop comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
- Establish full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
- Advise on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
- Plan and coordinate complex project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
- Act as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project and technology issues.
- Provide technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
- Advise senior management on technical strategy.
- Mentor junior team members.
- Perform independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
- Develop original and creative technical solutions to ongoing development efforts.
