The Product Design Electrical Engineer role at AWS focuses on the design and development of electrical distribution products for data centers, specifically medium voltage switchgear and transformers. • 5+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities such as data centers or power generation.
• 5+ years of commissioning experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems design.
• Professional Engineer License is preferred.
• Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.

• Work with internal partner teams to solicit customer input and define design requirements for product design.
• Lead new product design, development, and qualification of critical electrical power distribution equipment for AWS data centers.
• Develop Capex and Opex spending budgets considering development costs with vendors and testing requirements.
• Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, IEC, and federal, state, and municipal requirements across different countries.
• Validate design through prototype, pre-production, and first-of-kind builds.
• Work with field engineering and commissioning teams to test and validate installation and performance of electrical products.
• Provide support for manufacturing activities for new products on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations.
