Job description
Apple is looking for a Reliability Engineer to join the Mac Hardware Reliability team. This role involves collaborating with various hardware teams to ensure products are durable and reliable, exceeding industry standards. The engineer will lead cross-functional teams, design innovative reliability tests, and drive continuous product improvements. The focus is on characterizing product usage patterns and coordinating design validation efforts to enhance customer experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field such as mechanical engineering, materials engineering, electrical engineering, or physics with 3+ years of industry experience.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to create clear and concise presentations using tools like Keynote and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and curiosity about how technologies work.
- Ability to use basic productivity applications such as email, web browsers, and spreadsheets.
- M.S. or PhD in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
- Statistical experience with tools such as Weibull or JMP.
- Familiarity with failure analysis techniques and methodologies.
Responsibilities

- Characterize product usage patterns and translate them into controlled lab tests.
- Coordinate timely design validation efforts to ensure high standards for customer experience.
