Job description
The Customer Service Engineer (CSE) role at KLA focuses on providing service support for advanced KLA products primarily in the Houston/Sugarland, TX area. The CSE is responsible for tool repair, customer management, and logistics tasks while ensuring high performance and productivity of KLA products. This position requires excellent troubleshooting skills and proficiency in working with electro-mechanical equipment in a cleanroom environment. The CSE will also need to maintain strong communication with customers and collaborate with various teams to resolve technical issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience (2-5 years)
- Proficiency in troubleshooting software and electronics, optics, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electro-optical systems
- Understanding of computer theory, various operating systems, and networking in a Windows, Unix, or Novell environment
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to understand customer needs
- Ability to work under pressure and meet stringent timelines
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service support for a variety of advanced KLA products.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with customers, CSEs, applications engineers, technical support, and sales teams.
- Evaluate, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot technical equipment problems at customer sites.
- Maintain the Preventive Maintenance schedule on KLA tools at customer sites and execute all PMs per the schedule.
- Repair and update equipment at customer sites, including system-level problems.
- Prepare Field Service Reports on customer support activity and document recurring problems.
- Cross-train and assist other field service engineers as needed.
- Provide first-level Applications support and guidance to Installation Engineers.
- Manage individual inventory accounts and assist in preparing quotes for customers.
- Conduct customer orientation and technical training on equipment maintenance support.
