Job description
The Technical Program Manager at Apple will work closely with the New Production Introduction group and a multi-functional team to ensure the delivery of top-quality products. This role requires a blend of knowledge in optics, electronics, and manufacturing processes, along with the ability to manage projects under tight timelines. The position involves collaboration with various teams and vendors, emphasizing innovation and excellence in product development. Travel may be required for up to 25-30% of the time.
Requirements
- Degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical, Materials, or Industrial, or a graduate degree in supply chain and/or operations.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with design and/or manufacturing process development.
- Familiarity with factory operations, 5S, operator training, safety, and security.
- Demonstrated expertise in at least one area such as metal forming, molding, or additive manufacturing.
- Experience with compiling data and making recommendations for product designs and assembly drawings.
- Experience using process control methodologies and in-depth failure analysis methods.
- Proven track record of leading a multi-functional team to achieve new product objectives.
Responsibilities
- Work with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure product quality.
- Combine knowledge of optics, electronics, and manufacturing processes to deliver results.
- Manage project schedules and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Utilize statistical analysis and Design of Experiments for product development.
- Simulate line throughput and resolve bottlenecks for high volume production.
- Lead problem-solving initiatives in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with international OEM partners to achieve project goals.
