Job description
As an Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers, ensuring their design, operation, and maintenance meet high standards. You will collaborate with diverse teams to troubleshoot issues, develop innovative solutions, and lead engineering audits. This role is essential for maintaining the reliability and efficiency of AWS's global infrastructure. You will also engage in both office and field work, contributing to projects that enhance data center capacity and safety.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Valid and active driver's license
- 3+ cumulative years of experience with industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering, particularly in data centers or mission-critical facilities
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and applicable building codes
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment related to data centers
- Possess data analytics skills and comfort with working in large data environments
- Experience with EPMS/SCADA/BMS Controls systems
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for site and equipment failures
- Support operational issues with training and complex procedure reviews
- Own the conceptual design for data center upgrades and solutions
- Interface with internal teams to promote consistency and reliability in services
- Develop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers
- Initiate and lead engineering audits, producing reports with risks and mitigations
- Act as resident engineer during new construction projects
