Job description
The role is for a machine learning research engineer focused on generative models within Apple's Intelligent System Experiences team. The team is dedicated to transforming cutting-edge Generative AI research into user-friendly applications like Genmoji and Image Playground. The engineer will work on training and adapting large-scale models while staying updated with the latest AI advancements. This position offers the chance to contribute to innovative projects that enhance user experiences across Apple products.
Requirements
- M.S. or PhD in Computer Science or a related field such as Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience working on training and fine-tuning modern image/video generation models.
- Experience working in an academic or industrial research environment.
- Proficient in an ML framework such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to drive clarity in ambiguous circumstances.
- Track record of strong industrial research, including delivery of complex projects or publications in top-tier venues.
Responsibilities
- Build and refine modern generative models based on diffusion and auto-regressive technologies.
- Train and adapt large-scale image, video, audio, and multimodal foundation models.
- Stay at the forefront of AI research to apply impactful developments rapidly.
- Pioneer proprietary and experimental ideas tailored for Apple's ecosystem.
