Job description

This position involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise software applications with a focus on building CI/CD pipelines and supporting production environments. The role requires collaboration with architecture design teams and mentoring junior team members. The candidate will leverage their business knowledge to translate divisional initiatives into effective software solutions. The main focus is on delivering high-quality software on time and within budget while ensuring adherence to secure software lifecycle principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and five years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer.
  • Alternatively, a Master's degree in a related field and three years of experience in a similar role.
  • Expertise in designing scalable back-end development using Python and creating responsive UIs with Angular, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Experience with data automation and analysis using MySQL, Postgres, and NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices, encryption standards, and Identity and Access Management (IAM).
  • Experience in setting up Cloud infrastructure within Amazon Web Services (AWS) and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in architecture design teams.
  • Define and implement application-level architecture.
  • Develop applications on complex projects and components for the division.
  • Recommend development testing tools and validate test plans.
  • Ensure QA readiness of software deliverables.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
  • Establish full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
  • Meet project goals on-time and on-budget.
  • Advise on risk assessment and management strategies for projects.
  • Plan and coordinate project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
  • Act as a primary liaison for business units to resolve project and technology issues.
  • Provide technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates.
  • Advise senior management on technical strategy.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Perform independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects.
  • Develop original and creative technical solutions to ongoing development efforts.
