As an Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers, ensuring they meet customer needs while maintaining high safety and security standards. You will collaborate with diverse teams, including software, hardware, and network engineers, to develop innovative solutions and improve data center operations. This role involves troubleshooting, conducting root cause analysis, and leading engineering audits. You will also support construction projects and interface with various internal teams to promote consistency and reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of commercial or industrial power systems or mechanical systems
- Experience using a variety of web-based and other software tools for calculation and data processing
- Possess data analytics skills, data querying skills/language (SQL, others), and scripting (Python, others)
- Excellent communication and writing skills with attention to detail
- Possess leadership and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, conduct root cause analysis, and create corrective action documentation for site/equipment failures.
- Directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training and complex operating procedure reviews.
- Own the conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions.
- Interface with internal teams to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability.
- Develop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers.
- Initiate and lead engineering audits including on-site visits within Amazon's data centers.
- Act as resident engineer during new construction projects and support construction, commissioning, and turnover.
