The Principal Software Engineer will join the AI Frameworks team at Microsoft, focusing on advancing AI technology and developing software that enhances machine learning performance. This team bridges the gap between state-of-the-art AI models and various hardware ecosystems, impacting major Microsoft products. The role involves technical leadership, mentoring, and collaboration with stakeholders to drive innovation in AI frameworks. The engineer will work on projects like ONNX and ONNX Runtime, contributing to cutting-edge AI solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Experience developing Inference software stack.
- Experience working on systems performance optimization.
- Working with Open-Source code.
Responsibilities
- Partner with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for complex scenarios.
- Provide technical leadership for the identification of dependencies and the development of design documents.
- Lead by example and mentor others to produce extensible and maintainable code.
- Leverage deep subject-matter expertise to lead multiple product's project plans and release plans.
- Hold accountability as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and mentor engineers across products.
- Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to new trends and technical solutions.
