This position involves working with the AWS Elastic Block Store (EBS) Performance team to enhance high-performance block storage for EC2 instances. The role focuses on reducing latency and solving performance, availability, and scalability challenges. Team members collaborate with experts across AWS to build secure and reliable systems. • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

• Work with a high performance C++ software stack to reduce latency measured at microsecond scale
• Design and solve for performance, availability, and scalability problems
• Develop software on the latest platforms and drive the roadmap for the next generation
• Collaborate with and learn from industry experts to solve challenging problems
• Monitor and ensure consistent and low latency IO for EBS customers
