The Amazon Managed Streaming for Kafka (MSK) team is seeking engineers to contribute to a fully managed service that simplifies building and running applications using Apache Kafka for data streaming. The role involves working on the entire stack, including APIs, workflows, and core Kafka platform improvements. Candidates should be passionate about open source and solving customer business needs at AWS scale. This position offers a unique opportunity to bridge open source technology with Amazon's internal software development.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
- 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
- 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Design and build new features for the Amazon MSK service
- Make performance improvements to the Kafka platform
- Identify and investigate new technologies for data streaming
- Prototype solutions and build scalable services
- Test and review changes to deliver an exceptional customer experience
- Collaborate with other engineers to define the team's roadmap
