Job description

Amazon is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and scaling of assembly operations. This hands-on role involves creating assembly processes, supporting equipment bring-up, and implementing best practices. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in high-volume assembly environments and a strong foundation in process engineering. This position requires collaboration across disciplines and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of direct manufacturing engineering experience in high-volume assembly environments for complex products.
  • Hands-on experience with assembly methods including mechanical joining, fastening, and adhesive bonding.
  • Familiarity with production system design, vendor engagement, and equipment bring-up.
  • Understanding of DFM/DFA principles and their application in iterative product development.
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with product design teams to provide DFM/DFA feedback and advocate for producible assembly processes.
  • Develop and prove out assembly methods for complex electromechanical products.
  • Support PFMEA development and contribute process knowledge upstream in product development.
  • Support manufacturing line concept, design, requirements, and commissioning.
  • Contribute to line requirements including layout, work content, cycle times, rates, and headcount.
  • Support design of new assembly equipment and assist with equipment specifications and deployment.
  • Coordinate with equipment OEMs, tooling suppliers, and automation integrators.
  • Support end-to-end project execution and production readiness.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce non-value-add operations and drive improvements.
  • Develop and document assembly processes, work instructions, and control plans.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and data-driven problem-solving to drive continuous improvement.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
