Job description
The Senior Analytics Engineer at Rivian will play a vital role in the Systems and Processes team, focusing on transforming complex data into actionable insights. This position requires a deep understanding of business needs and the ability to create robust analytical solutions. The ideal candidate will be proficient in data transformation and visualization tools, contributing to the company's mission of delivering emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles. This role is primarily based in Normal, IL, with flexibility for Atlanta, GA.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in an Analytics Engineering, Business Intelligence, or Senior Data Analyst role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Economics, or a related degree.
- Expert-level proficiency in writing complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and modeling.
- Strong practical experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Google BigQuery.
- Experience with a modern data transformation framework like dbt for creating version-controlled data models.
- Advanced skill in developing interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Excellent understanding of Supply Chain and Logistics business processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards that track key performance indicators and operational metrics.
- Work directly with business stakeholders to scope analytical requests and define reporting requirements.
- Present complex analytical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders, translating data into business implications.
- Efficiently access and utilize data assets provided by the central Data Hub.
- Design and implement robust data transformation pipelines using SQL, Python, and/or dbt.
- Act as the first line of defense for data quality and integrity within the reporting layer.
