Job description

KLA is seeking a Product Engineer to support wafer inspection tools within the Central Engineering Group in Ann Arbor. This role focuses on ensuring tool availability, performance, and operational readiness through collaboration with various teams. The successful candidate will engage in problem-solving and documentation to enhance tool performance. This position requires working in a cleanroom environment and providing on-call support during critical activities.

Requirements

  • Master's Level Degree with 0 years of related work experience or Bachelor's Level Degree with 2 years of related work experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of precision instruments and control systems.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting complex electromechanical or optical systems.
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom operations and wafer handling concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the engineering tool owner for assigned wafer inspection tools.
  • Monitor tool health, uptime, and performance while identifying and resolving issues.
  • Implement and support calibration, specification validation, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Resolve tool issues using structured root-cause analysis across various subsystems.
  • Support customer demos by preparing tools and ensuring demo requirements are met.
