Job description
The Lead GenAI Forward Deployed Engineer at YouTube is responsible for driving AI transformation across the organization. This role involves partnering with YouTube's Go To Market Organization's AI Accelerator team to redesign workflows and leverage applied AI for business impact. The engineer will serve as a trusted partner to product management, focusing on building and deploying complex AI applications. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and stakeholder engagement to deliver innovative solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or a related quantitative field.
- 9 years of experience building APIs or web applications and designing scalable microservice architectures.
- 8 years of experience in full-stack development using programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, C++, or TypeScript.
- 4 years of experience working with teams and business stakeholders to create product roadmaps.
- 4 years of experience as a Tech Lead or Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities
- Build GenAI proof of concepts to demonstrate feasibility to stakeholders.
- Serve as engineering lead delivering complex AI applications and transitioning prototypes to production-grade systems.
- Act as a trusted engineering partner to product management and stakeholders, co-creating tool roadmaps.
- Author technical designs, write clean and maintainable code, and deliver from scoping to deployment.
- Build high-performance evaluation pipelines and observability frameworks to resolve AI bottlenecks.
