Job description
As a Network Implementation Engineer at Google, you will be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks globally. You will collaborate with various teams, including Technical Program Managers and Network Engineers, to ensure the reliability and efficiency of network services. The role focuses on diagnosing network issues and facilitating repairs while supporting field operations. Your efforts will contribute to building a scalable and cost-effective network for Google's customers worldwide.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Telecom Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 2 years of experience in telecommunications with optical network infrastructure and data services.
- Experience with Unix/Linux administration and scripting/coding in a DevOps environment.
- Experience in network operations and troubleshooting in IP and optical environments.
Responsibilities
- Respond to network outages by diagnosing Layer 1 to Layer 3 network errors and completing repairs.
- Develop workflows and systems to diagnose optical Layer 1 and Layer 3 network issues.
- Participate in 24/7 global team shift rotations.
- Provide remote support for field operations related to network repairs.
- Communicate repair status and updates to high-level customers as needed.
