Job description
The ML Software Engineer for GenAI for Youth at Google is responsible for developing scalable and responsible AI frameworks that enhance user experiences across Google's products. This role is part of the Kids and Families team, focusing on bridging foundational model research with age-appropriate production environments. The engineer will work on complex engineering challenges related to user classification and behavioral modeling. The position requires collaboration across multiple engineering hubs to establish technical strategies and ensure the integrity and safety of AI-driven platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with software development, system design, or machine learning infrastructure.
- 8 years of experience working with trust and safety, classification problems, large language model safety architectures, fraud or risk detection, identity verification, or adversarial machine learning.
Responsibilities
- Develop shared algorithmic frameworks and foundational math in core modeling domains.
- Streamline engineering efforts across global product lines by creating cohesive and reusable platform layers.
- Architect automated evaluation methodologies and standardized benchmarking metrics for validation models.
- Serve as a technical conduit between product, data science, and engineering groups.
- Act as a strategic advisory partner to executive engineering leadership on platform maturity and operational capacity.
